Bonus Audit

Is This Casino Bonus Worth It? Audit the Terms Before You Deposit

Sometimes, but the advertised percentage can't tell you. Wagering rules, game contribution, bet limits and cashout caps decide what a bonus really asks of you. The BonusEdge Bonus Audit takes the offer and playing setup you enter, simulates thousands of sessions, and shows what completing the bonus would take and how often those sessions lose the balance. It estimates risk. It doesn't promise profit.

Registration is required before an audit runs. BonusEdge is independent: it isn't a casino, doesn't accept wagers and doesn't recommend casinos.

The short answer

Why the bonus percentage isn't enough

“100% up to $100” tells you how much bonus you can receive. It doesn't tell you how much you must wager, which games count, how much you can bet meanwhile, or how much you can withdraw.

Those terms change the arithmetic. Wagering may apply to the bonus, the deposit, or both. Game contribution decides how much of each wager counts, so a game that counts 50% doubles the play required. A maximum bet or cashout cap can limit what a good run is worth. Two offers with the same headline can ask for very different amounts of play.

How the Bonus Audit works

STEP 01

Enter or review the terms.

Type in the deposit, bonus, wagering multiplier and what it applies to, game contribution, bonus type and any maximum cashout. Or use the optional terms scanner: paste the offer text and, where available, additional bonus and casino terms, or select a casino from BonusEdge's data. The scanner proposes values. You review and correct them before applying them.

STEP 02

Choose the game and playing setup.

Select a game or enter its RTP and volatility yourself. A generic game profile is also available. Then set your bet size. The Audit evaluates the setup you enter. It doesn't search for a better deposit or stake.

STEP 03

Run the simulation and interpret the audit.

BonusEdge simulates your entered setup many times. You get a decision and risk summary, the core results below, and a "What Could Cost You Money" section that highlights relevant issues. Detailed results add further simulation measures.

What the five core results mean

Amount required to complete the bonus
How much play the bonus requires under the wagering basis, multiplier and game contribution you entered.
Chance of losing your balance
The share of simulated attempts in which the playable balance is lost before a cashout.
Typical result
The median net outcome across simulated attempts. It shows the middle of the results, which can differ sharply from the average.
Chance of Profit
The share of simulated attempts that ended ahead of your original deposit.
Average Profit / Loss
The average net result across all simulated attempts, including the losses.

The average and the typical result can tell different stories. A few very large outcomes can lift the average above zero even when most attempts lose money. Likewise, the chance of losing your balance and the chance of profit answer different questions: one is about running out, the other about finishing ahead of your deposit. Read them together.

A simple wagering example

This is a hypothetical: a $100 deposit, a $100 bonus, 40× wagering on deposit plus bonus, and 70% game contribution. The arithmetic below shows how much would need to be staked to complete that wagering requirement. It does not mean the player will have enough balance to do so. It isn't a simulated result, a typical outcome or a profit prediction. The Audit models the game assumptions, bet size and the possibility of losing the balance before cashing out.

  • Nominal wagering: $200 × 40 = $8,000
  • Total stakes needed for $8,000 to count at 70%: $8,000 ÷ 0.70 ≈ $11,428.57
  • That is about 57.14× the $200 deposit plus bonus

Risks and assumptions to check

The Audit models what you enter, so the result is only as good as the inputs.

Rules you supply:

  • Maximum bet. The bonus may set a limit per spin. Enter it and keep your modeled bet within that limit; an over-limit bet can breach the offer's rules.
  • Cashout cap. It can limit how much of a strong result you can withdraw.
  • Eligibility and game contribution. A game may count fully, partly or not at all.
  • RTP and volatility. These come from your selected game or your manual entry. A slot's published RTP and volatility don't mean BonusEdge knows its exact future payout pattern.
  • Unclear or conflicting terms. If an essential term is unclear or conflicting, the audit flags the uncertainty. It doesn't invent a reliable answer.

What BonusEdge can't independently verify: unpublished restrictions, a casino's current game version or exact payout pattern, whether a withdrawal will be approved or paid, and the next outcome. Check the actual offer, game rules and your eligibility before relying on an estimate.

Bonus Audit or Deposit Optimizer?

The Audit examines one setup you enter. The separate Deposit Optimizer compares eligible deposit and starting-stake combinations and presents three decision views. An audit never launches an Optimizer run on its own. A saved analysis can prefill supported Optimizer fields, which you can review and edit.

Accounts and plans

An account is required before an audit runs. Limits depend on your plan:

  • Free Starter: 3 combined Bonus Audit or Deposit Optimizer runs per 30-day cycle, 10,000 simulated sessions per audit, 1 terms scan per cycle and 1 saved audit. It supports manual or generic game assumptions and max-cashout-aware analysis. It doesn't include the full Slot RTP database or advanced bonus rules.
  • Founder Pro ($24 USD for 30 days): 25 combined runs, 100,000 sessions per audit, 10 terms scans, 250 saved audits, the full Slot RTP and volatility database, and advanced options such as sticky and postwager bonuses, early withdrawal rules, a second game, No Overshoot and a final target. These options apply only to bonuses that use them.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the Bonus Audit

Is a casino bonus worth it?

It depends on the terms and the setup you plan to play; no audit can tell you with certainty what will happen. An offer can look generous and still demand heavy play, restrict your bet size or cap your withdrawal. The Audit shows the required play, modeled outcomes and chance of losing your balance so you can weigh the trade-off. Gambling can lose your full deposit.

Does wagering apply to the bonus or the deposit?

Either, or both. With a $100 deposit and $100 bonus, 40× on the bonus alone is $4,000 of nominal wagering, while 40× on deposit plus bonus is $8,000. Enter the basis exactly as the terms state it. If the terms are unclear, the audit flags it.

Will my game count toward wagering?

Only as much as the terms say. Contribution is the percentage of each wager that counts. At 50%, you would need to stake twice the wagering amount. Enter the contribution from the offer's terms. BonusEdge can't confirm eligibility beyond what you supply.

Does a positive average mean I'll probably win?

No. The average blends every simulated outcome, and a few large wins can raise it while most attempts lose. Chance of Profit shows how often attempts end ahead of your deposit, and Chance of losing your balance shows how often they run out. Neither a positive average nor a favorable decision label guarantees a profit.

How do RTP and volatility affect the results?

RTP is a game's long-run average return. Volatility describes how widely results swing around it. The simulation uses both, together with your bonus rules and bet size. The figures are assumptions, and the casino's current game version may differ.

Are the terms extracted by the scanner verified?

No. The optional scanner reads the offer text you provide and proposes values for you to review. It doesn't verify them against the casino or track every casino's current terms. Correct anything that's wrong, and confirm details on the official offer pages.

How does a maximum cashout change the result?

A cap limits how much of a winning balance you can withdraw, which reduces the value of the best outcomes. The Audit includes a cap when you enter one. Check how your terms define what the cap applies to.

Do I need an account to run an audit?

Yes. Registration comes before an audit runs, and your plan sets your limits for runs, simulated sessions, scans and saved audits. See Pricing for details.

Does the Audit guarantee a withdrawal?

No. BonusEdge can't confirm whether a casino will approve or pay a withdrawal, or what the next outcome will be. Results are estimates of possible outcomes under the inputs you entered.

What's the difference between the Bonus Audit and the Deposit Optimizer?

The Audit evaluates the deposit, bonus, game and bet size you enter. The Deposit Optimizer compares eligible deposit and starting-stake combinations and presents three decision views. They are separate tools, and neither runs automatically after the other.
