Casino Bonus Max Cashout Explained: How Much Can You Actually Withdraw?

BonusEdge Guide · 12 min read

Maximum cashout is the ceiling on how much you may withdraw from a casino bonus, regardless of how large your balance becomes during play. It can be a fixed amount, a multiple of the bonus or a multiple of the deposit. Under many bonus terms, amounts above the cap may be voided when wagering is completed or a withdrawal is processed. The exact treatment depends on the offer's wording.

Why the bonus percentage does not answer the real question

A “100% up to $100” offer tells you the match rate and the maximum bonus you can receive. It does not tell you how much you can ultimately withdraw.

Several separate rules determine that:

  • The wagering requirement determines how much qualifying play you must complete.
  • Game contribution determines how much of each bet counts toward that requirement.
  • Maximum bet limits what you may stake while the bonus is active.
  • Maximum cashout limits what you may withdraw from a successful result.

The real question is not simply “How large is the bonus?” It is: If I complete the wagering requirement with a large balance, how much of it can I actually withdraw?

What does casino bonus max cashout mean?

Maximum cashout is a withdrawal ceiling attached to a bonus. It normally matters when wagering has been completed or when a withdrawal is requested. A player might see a balance above the cap during play, but that does not necessarily mean the full balance will become withdrawable.

This is different from two other common limits:

  • Maximum bonus limits how much promotional money the casino credits at the beginning.
  • Maximum bet limits how much the player may stake per round while wagering is active.

Maximum cashout applies on the exit side of the offer: it controls how much of the final result may be converted into withdrawable funds.

How is maximum cashout calculated?

Casino bonus terms commonly express the cap in one of three ways.

1. Fixed maximum cashout

The terms specify one fixed currency amount, regardless of the deposit or bonus size.

For example, Lucky Twice's official bonus terms state a maximum cashout of 5,000 EUR/GBP/USD/CAD/AUD/USDT or the currency equivalent for its Welcome offer. The same page lists different rules for crypto users and Welcome-offer free-spin winnings, showing why each part of an offer must be checked separately.

2. Maximum cashout based on the bonus

The cap is calculated by multiplying the bonus received.

WinsRoyal's official bonus conditions state that deposit-related bonuses carry a maximum cashout of 10 times the bonus amount, alongside a 40× wagering requirement on the bonus.

3. Maximum cashout based on the deposit

The cap is calculated from the player's initial deposit rather than from the bonus.

Lucky Twice's Welcome-offer terms use this structure for crypto users, limiting maximum cashout to twice the initial deposit. This is materially different from the fixed cap stated for the same offer's other listed currencies.

Three worked maximum-cashout examples

The following calculations are illustrations. Whether the original deposit sits inside or outside a cap must be determined from the exact offer terms.

Example 1: Fixed $300 cap

Assume:

  • Deposit: $100
  • Bonus: $100
  • Final balance after wagering: $800
  • Fixed maximum cashout: $300
ResultAmount
Displayed balance$800
Maximum permitted withdrawal under the assumed interpretation$300
Balance above the cap$500
Net profit relative to the $100 deposit$200

This calculation assumes the deposit is included within the $300 withdrawal cap. If the terms cap winnings separately and return the deposit outside the cap, the result would be different.

Example 2: Cap equal to 10× the bonus

Assume:

  • Deposit: $100
  • Bonus received: $100
  • Maximum cashout: 10× the bonus
  • Final balance after wagering: $1,500

The calculated cap is:

$100 bonus × 10 = $1,000 maximum cashout

Under a total-withdrawal interpretation, no more than $1,000 of the $1,500 balance would be withdrawable, leaving $500 above the cap. Net profit relative to the $100 deposit would be $900.

WinsRoyal's published wording does not clearly establish whether the returned deposit sits inside or outside its 10× cap. That point should therefore not be assumed.

Example 3: Cap equal to 2× the deposit

Assume:

  • Initial crypto deposit: $100 equivalent
  • Maximum cashout: 2× the initial deposit
  • Final balance after wagering: $1,000

The calculated cap is:

$100 deposit × 2 = $200 maximum cashout

Under a total-withdrawal interpretation, $200 would be withdrawable and $800 would sit above the cap. Net profit relative to the original $100 deposit would be $100. The exact treatment of the original deposit must still follow the specific terms.

Does maximum cashout include the original deposit?

There is no universal answer. Some terms describe a cap on the total amount withdrawable, while others cap bonus winnings and deal with the original deposit separately.

If the wording is unclear, do not assume the deposit will be added on top of the stated cap. Ask the casino to confirm in writing before depositing, especially when the distinction materially changes the offer's value.

What happens to winnings above the cap?

Under many bonus terms, the amount above the applicable cap is voided or removed when wagering is completed or when a withdrawal is processed. The exact trigger varies by offer.

This means a balance displayed during play can be higher than the amount ultimately available to withdraw. Check:

  • When the cap is applied
  • Whether it covers the total withdrawal or winnings only
  • Whether separate limits apply to free spins, deposit bonuses or payment methods
  • Whether individual promotional terms override the general bonus rules

Maximum cashout versus maximum bonus and maximum bet

These three restrictions affect different stages of the offer.

RestrictionWhat it controls
Maximum bonusPromotional funds credited at the beginning
Maximum betStake permitted per round while wagering is active
Maximum cashoutAmount permitted to be withdrawn at the end

A large advertised bonus can still have a restrictive cashout cap. Likewise, staying below the maximum bet does not protect the player from a separate withdrawal ceiling.

How maximum cashout can change expected bonus value

A wagering requirement affects the path a player must survive. Maximum cashout affects what a successful outcome is worth.

In a high-volatility setup, a relatively small number of large outcomes can materially raise the mathematical average. A restrictive cap removes much of that upper tail while leaving losing outcomes untouched. The chance of finishing profitably may remain similar, yet the amount retained in successful sessions can fall sharply.

BonusEdge simulation: the same setup with and without a cap

BonusEdge tested two illustrative versions of the same hypothetical setup. The only changed input was maximum cashout.

Both runs used:

  • $100 deposit
  • 100% bonus worth $100
  • $200 starting playable balance
  • 40× wagering on the bonus, requiring $4,000 in qualifying wagers
  • 100% game contribution
  • 96% RTP
  • High volatility
  • $5 bet size
  • Cashable bonus
  • No early withdrawal
  • 100,000 simulated sessions

Same hypothetical setup without a maximum cashout: BonusEdge estimates an average result of +$52.60 and returns a “Consider” decision.
BonusEdge simulation of the same hypothetical casino bonus with a $200 maximum cashout, showing an estimated average result of negative $75.07 and an Avoid decision.
The same hypothetical setup with a $200 maximum cashout: the estimated average changes to −$75.07 and the decision changes to “Avoid.”

The small differences in bust rate and gain rate are ordinary Monte Carlo sampling variation. They are not evidence that the cap changed the probability of busting.

The material change was the value of successful outcomes. Without the cap, rare large results raised the estimated average to +$52.60. With a $200 cashout ceiling, estimated average profit/loss fell to −$75.07—a reduction of approximately $127.67 per simulated attempt.

Average profit among profitable outcomes fell from +$1,130.48 to +$98.35. Maximum simulated session profit fell from +$5,503.12 to +$100 because a $200 withdrawal is only $100 above the original $100 deposit.

The typical result remained a complete loss of the deposit in both runs. A positive simulated average is not the same as a likely profit: the uncapped setup still busted in more than 87% of simulated attempts.

Methodology: These were independent Monte Carlo runs of 100,000 sessions using identical assumptions. Maximum cashout was the only input changed. The results describe this hypothetical setup, not a real casino offer, guarantee or prediction.

Two real terms examples

The official terms reviewed on 30 September 2026 demonstrate how differently maximum cashout can be structured:

  • WinsRoyal: Deposit-related bonuses state 40× wagering on the bonus and maximum cashout of 10× the bonus. Its terms also state a maximum €5/$5 bet with bonus funds.
  • Lucky Twice: Its Welcome offer states a fixed 5,000-unit cashout limit for the listed currencies, a 2× initial-deposit limit for crypto users and a separate 300-unit maximum for Welcome free-spin winnings. Its general terms state 40× wagering unless individual terms say otherwise.

These casinos are cited only as examples of published terms. BonusEdge does not recommend or endorse either casino. Individual promotional terms may override general terms, so check the specific offer before relying on any figure.

Maximum-cashout checklist

Before depositing, answer all of these:

  • Is the cap fixed or multiplier-based?
  • Is the multiplier based on the deposit, bonus or free-spin winnings?
  • Does the cap include the original deposit?
  • Are fiat and crypto limits different?
  • Do different components of the offer have separate caps?
  • When is balance above the cap removed or forfeited?
  • Do individual promotion terms override the general terms?
  • What is the maximum permitted bet?
  • Which games contribute, and at what rate?
  • Is wagering calculated on the bonus or deposit plus bonus?
  • Does the bonus expire before wagering can realistically be completed?

Frequently asked questions

What does max cashout mean on a casino bonus?

It is a ceiling on how much you may withdraw from a bonus. Under many terms, balance above that limit may be voided when wagering is completed or a withdrawal is processed.

Does maximum cashout include my deposit?

It depends on the exact terms. Some caps cover the total withdrawal; others apply to winnings only. If the wording is unclear, confirm it before depositing.

What happens if my balance exceeds maximum cashout?

Under many offers, the excess is removed or forfeited at the point specified in the terms. A displayed balance above the cap does not guarantee that the full amount is withdrawable.

Is maximum cashout the same as maximum bonus?

No. Maximum bonus limits the promotional funds credited initially. Maximum cashout limits what may be withdrawn after the wagering conditions are met.

Can a maximum-cashout cap make positive simulated value negative?

Yes. In the BonusEdge illustration above, applying a $200 cap changed estimated average profit/loss from +$52.60 to −$75.07 by removing most of the value from rare large outcomes.

Check the complete terms before depositing

The headline bonus percentage is only one part of the offer. Wagering basis, game contribution, maximum bet and maximum cashout determine what must be completed and how much of a successful balance may actually be withdrawn.
